Have the privilege of attending and it’s incredible. The history and the 1000 stories I will never know. My wife got us a vip package and they gave us this as one of the gifts…

I will post some more photos as it goes along. There are many many legends here…

Finally a shout out to a legend, Gordon Levy. This looks a lot like his big brake kit which is just an amazing setup….
Yes, I’m a nerd and took pictures of stupid big brakes…

I recently bought a 2017 GT350 as another play car. I was amazed at the size of the rotors...15.5"! These Corvette rotors remind me of them.

Things to know if you decide to come:

Go on Thursday or Friday to experience the venue and see all the booths. Far fewer people and the booths and displays make it very worthwhile.

It is hot and loud. And so very very loud. Get very good quality ear protection. Wear athletic clothes that dry fast and are good at letting you breathe. Jeans are a hell no.

Bring good quality walking shoes. We walked on average 8 miles a day.

Hotels sell out a year in advance.

We stayed in Angers and took the train and tram every day. Works great but on the day of the race the trains are packed and travel is hard. There are 300,000 people here. Moving around is a challenge.

If you can, get great tickets, ones that give you access to hospitality suites. Well worth it.

We had tickets on the Dunlop turn or T10. Very fun but not a lot off access to the big screens. If I do it again I will get something that has a seat right across from the big screens.

The starting line at the start is fabulous. Kind of dull after the starting line as it is a straight away. Much more fun to watch the cars fight it out in the turns.

If you take the tram in and leave from the tram the price is very reasonable (1.50 euro each way). The down side is that you may need to wait for a long while as they are packed. If you can a services that drops you off is fabulous. We will do that next time.

It’s a blast but it’s really loud.
