Hello
What are people using to install the Carpet. I would prefer a spray on that doesn't require a compressor.
Thanks

3M 77 adhesive. It's an aerosol you can buy at Ace, etc.

Unusual on here for builders to to use a spray gun for adhesive. Like the pro shops do. Pretty much need a dedicated gun, nearly impossible to clean out, and for a one-time build, probably not the best choice. So you're safe without a compressor. I'm personally not a huge fan of the spray can adhesive products. But if that's what you want to use, on my recent airplane build 3M Hi-Strength Spray Adhesive 90 was recommended for carpet so I used it for the first time. It was pretty OK. You need to watch for overspray, but it's not terrible. Strength seems decent. Personally, I prefer Weldwood Gel Contact Cement that I brush on, and (believe it or not) Roberts 6700 Indoor/Outdoor Carpet Adhesive for the big pieces like the floor, etc. Apply it really thin with a finely notched putty knife using as little as possible. Allows you to re-position and sticks really well when cured. Both products available at most big box stores.

+1 on the outdoor carpet cement. Spread it on w/ a notched trowel and you have plenty of working time to slide the pieces around.

X2 for Weldwood brush-on. I think it's far less messy than spray-on. I used the 3M stuff on my first build, and Weldwood on my 2nd. Would never go back to spray adhesive. Weldwood holds like crazy. I put a fairly heavy coat on both the carpet and the surface it's placed on, give it a couple of minutes to cure, then apply the carpet. It's still wet enough to move the carpet around for several minutes, then it's stuck for good. I initially bought a quart for my carpet installation, but that wasn't enough. If you go that route, get a gallon. You'll use it later for other stuff, too.

Ditch the spray on adhesive idea. Use a brush on adhesive

I've been using 3M Super 90. Can be picked up at Home Depot/Lowes.

I used black 3m silicone same as the panels. Gives lots of time to position the carpet and move it about. Don't need to wait for it to flash off before applying. Also holds it like the dickens.

Would Ya'll recommend the same adhesive for the FFR dash pad?

Used 3M 90 on all the parts that had to be glued on. No redo's required yet.

I may do both, spray on the dash, and brush on the rest. I can see how the overspray could be a nightmare if not policed properly. But I like the thin coat for the dash "PL-leather"
