I cant get my wheels to lock up when I lay on the brake pedal. There is no air in the brake lines . I used a pressure bleeder system bleeding at 10 lbs. I cant drive the car on the road because it hasn't been inspected yet. I can only drive on my fairly long driveway at about 15-20 mph laying on the brake hard the car will stop in about a car length and a half. It was recommended to get softer brake pads or rough the disc with some sandpaper to break them in . The auto part stores said they never heard of softer brake pads. I dont want to put my body on till I get the brakes working better. I have the Willword duel MCs and they are adjusted for the front wheels are more pronounced in the adjustment.
I have bled these brakes so many times I am beginning to wear out the bleed nuts and bought new ones.
Any suggestions are much appreciated.
Thanks

It would be helpful to know what brakes you have and whether you have the Wilwood dual MCs w/ adjustable front to rear balance. Also what pads do you have? But in general a couple of thoughts; Most pads work better after maybe 50 miles w/ several hard stops during those miles. Hawk makes some 'softer' although I'd prefer to call them grippier pads. HPS are usually gripper than standard pads. HPS5.0 very slightly better. HP+ are very grippy but they do dust a lot.

Are you using the stock brakes or the Wilwood. The answer to both is the same but the PN's are different. There are a number of threads about how stock pads that come with the kits is marginal. Most people that change to a more aggressive pad see a significant performance increase. I have the Wilwoood setup and went from the BP-10 to BP-20. Night and day.

I am guessing if brakes are boosted some of this wouldn't get noticed.

You probably won't lock up the brakes at 20mph, especially if the haven't been bedded. Sounds like you are looking at an issue that isn't there. The body being on has nothing to do with the brakes, and you say no air in the system, but is the pedal rock hard when you push on it?

If the stops are too long look to HAWK or other quality pad line. The OEM pads supplied by FFR suck IMHO.

Go through the manufacturer's pad bedding procedure and get back to us if there isn't an improvement.
