Hello Everyone,
I made the drive down from Maine for the Factory Five Open House on Saturday. It was my longest trip in my Roadster to date!
The event was a little light on attendance due to the weather, but I still had a great time meeting everyone and seeing their cars. It was nice to place a face with so many that I've been communicating with both via this forum and through my Youtube channel.
While my trip down was uneventful, my drive home was an adventure to say the least. About 45 minutes into the drive I ran into a torrential downpour and was forced to pull over and find a safe place to cover my car with a tarp and wait it out. In the end I grabbed a hotel room and left my car under the tarp for the night. I'm happy to report that other than a damp interior I made it home safely.
Next on the agenda is to put a couple of drain holes in my floor boards.... :)

Great to finally meet you Aaron!

Yeah, the skies opened up shortly after the crowd started to disperse and I know you weren't the only one that got wet :(

The more times you get wet, the more stories you'll have to tell! I think it's a rite of passage... I hate to think about the number of times I've been dumped on by heavy storms! :D

My buddy was there parked 2 over from you. I saw your car in one of his pictures. It's unique so tough to miss. I gotta get to one of these things, glad you got home safe. The floor board drain is definitely a "when not if" thing.

Aaron sorry to hear about your drive home but glad the Cobra is ok. Thanks for talking with me and discussing roll bar lights. As I drove thru 2 hours of very heavy rain on my way home to Rochester NY I felt sorry for you all in open cars.(I was in my other sporty car the Tesla) You may want to visit my recent post about an inexpensive compact cover for just the occasion you experienced.

In my roadster builds I installed drain plugs in both sides of the tunnel floor. Learned that back in1974 when a Beach Buggy I was driving across the US got caught in a hail storm. Looked like a snow cone then melted into 6" deep water. Way far from home so a hammer and screwdriver provided the required drain holes.
