Sorry to see you’re selling your 289 Chris. I followed your build thread and used many of your choices during my build. I had hoped to see it at local car shows but wasn’t able to before you moved out of MA. I was at the FFR 30th anniversary open house today and brought up your build as one of the standout 289s. Someone will get a phenomenal build that’s an
excellent representation of the 289. Best of luck with your sale.

You don’t see a lot of 289’s on BAT. Might be worth putting an auction package together

I was thinking the same thing. It might stand out being different than all the 427 bodies cars out there.

There’s a different following for ERA, and for the Street 289 (slabside) in general. I really wanted one, but the length of time to order and the additional expense swayed me to order a FFR 289 USRRC/FIA.

Sorry. Not looking to purchase a finished one. I was curious about the splash shield fabricated by Nick Acton. Is it an undercarriage splash shield? Do you have a picture of it?

Thanks!
James

Hi James,

The splash shield is mounted around the filler cap behind the driver on the 289 cars. Here's a link to it:

Thanks Rob. I did see that. I'm a little late to the game. I was thinking about an undercarriage splash shield to protect from debris. I've been scouring the forum to see if anyone has fabricated one for the MkIV/289, plastic, aluminum or steel.

Thanks again! James

For MKIV the standard gas tank is from a Fox Body Mustang. Those have an optional plastic tank cover you can source from many places. Here is one example:
