Hi guys,

Just curious to see if anyone is coming to the Open House next Saturday? I'll be driving up Friday night from Jersey so I can be there when things start at 9am. Although I've wanted to build a Cobra for years, I've never even sat in one, let alone drive in one (just doesn't seem like the thing to ask). Since I'm interested in building a 289 car, I can see how the FIA car in the showroom feels and naturally check out the builds that make the show.

Thanks!

Rob

I gotta think the turn out will be good this year for the 30th.

Any CT folks?!

I'm going but what's killing me is that once again I'm probably going to walk right past so many of the great people I've met and interacted with here.

We've been planning to be there since the date was announced. Unfortunately our oldest granddaughter didn't get the memo and scheduled her wedding for that day. Guess which one has priority? Have a great time everyone.

I'll be there with my family. We placed an order for a Type 65 a couple months ago and have a engine / transmission package coming from Forte.

Haven't introduced myself or the build yet, but we delayed delivery from FFR until this fall because there are some other projects that need finishing first.

It's going to be a family build with my wife, son, and daughter, and the details will be coming soon but I look forward to meeting you all!!

I'll be there with my family. Jon

What a great way to kick off your project!

If going to the open house doesn't inspire and motivate you nothing will!

If the weather is agreeable I may drive the Daytona up from Eastern PA. Stay tuned.

Tooth,

Being so close, you should still make an appearance and get invigorated. I’ll be there sans car as will many others.

Weather dependent...

Making the 3 hour run in the AM from the Albany, NY area. Fun is fun, any amount of real rain, I'll sit this one out.

Enjoy!

It was definitely worth the six-hour drive from Jersey to make the event. Despite the weather forecast, there was a nice turnout, which I really appreciated! I finally got to see (and sit in) a 289 FIA Cobra - John289 was extremely gracious to let me sit in his phenomenal car and answer the myriad of questions that I peppered him with. After the open house and a sanity check with my wife (who said I should stop over analyzing the decision and go with my heart) I'll be talking to the FFR folks later this week about an order ;)

That was fast!!! Well done!

Question - did you do any mods on the steering wheel - I sat in the MkV in the showroom and the steering wheel was incredibly high relative to the seating position - pretty much blocking my view out. I’m still in the very early stages of my MkV build but looking for ideas on how to address before I get to it. Thanks! Jeff

Which did you sit in? The prototype and rolling chassis both have the seats on the floor. Ron's finished car has the seats raised about 4". The wheel position can have some adjustment made by lowering the rearmost pillow block and/or raising the mid point one.

We had a great time at the show, so much fun seeing the cars and meeting a bunch of great people!! Mike Forte was there as well and he was so good with my kids. Speaking of which they both really like the carbon body for the Type 65. And so do I, but I talked briefly with Dave Smith and though the price isn't final, even at the low end it's out of reach for me. He said it wasn't official until they can figure out some of the tariffs so I won't quote the numbers he told me.

We can't wait to get started on this build!!

We had a great time at the open house. It was nice to meet the famous Jeff Kleiner. My wife and her straw hat made it into the FF Open House Recap on You Tube. I took a ton of pictures of obscure little things on Ron's Mark V and the one without a body to be incorporated in ours. As we went home to Long Island on the ferry I was mentally measuring the approach angles to get on and off the boat to see if a cobra would get hung up. Hopefully we will drive ours to the next one.
