Hi All -
My MK1 door drops when it is not latch and needs to be lifted to ensure that it latches without hitting the body. Any suggestions for tightening the pin to eliminate this.
Also, looking for a source for the leather Door Check/Limit Straps that go across the hinge to keep the door from over extending.
TIA,
Mark

On the advice of Russ Thompson I added set screws to the hinges on my Mark I when I built it. After 25 years and 45k miles the doors are holding up well. I don't know if this would help on a car that already has saggy doors but it's easy to do and might be worth a try.

Thanks Johnny! That was something that I had considered doing, but wanted to see what the collective had done. I know the set screw, is a good method for the pin alignment.
Were did you get the leather limit straps, or are those original?

I got nothing for you on working with the original Mk1 door hinges although I know that back in the day FFR offered a kit to retrofit Mk2,3,4 hinges to the earlier roadsters. Might be worth checking with them if the setscrew doesn't give the results you're after. They sell the door check straps:
