I have a Gen 1 running a carbureted 408w Stroker with external electric pump and here's my issue. Do I use the supplied fuel lines or my common sense is telling me to run 3/8" fuel lines.
try to save cost but not at the expense of insufficient fuel delivery. What says the hive?
1) Using the Boyd Tank with a 3/8" fuel pick-up.
2) My plumbing at the carburetor is 3/8".
3) Supplied fuel lines are 5/16"
Thanks for the help.

Jim,
I use Evil Energy flexible fuel lines from Amazon and have for quite a while. Much easier to install but make sure you get the PTFE lined lines and the Evil Energy connectors made for the PTFE fuel line. -6AN = 3/8 line. Evil Energy also makes the 3/8 compression connectors needed for the fuel pump, tank and filter.

-8 AN is 1/2"
-6 (or 3/8) is plenty for an NA 408.

3/8" pick up with 3/8" hard lines with short 3/8" rubber lines to make the connections.
A Baker Mechanical Racing Fuel Pump keeps my motor well fed.
They no longer make this pump for Fords which is a shame.
Stainless Beer Elbow Fittings keep things simple as can be.

Thanks @GoDadGo. 3/8" Hard lines it is. I knew the answer, I just needed that extra confirmation to make it all right.
Thanks to all that commented.

As for me, I just guessed.
This is very good information to say the least.

427 SBF, 540hp, carb, mechanical pump, Canton filter close to the tank. 3/8" hard lines and AN-6 flexible lines.
Never had a problem after multiple track events, 65k miles and a bunch of dyno pulls.
I know many others (SPF community) that had bigger motors and a lot more HP than I had that had no problems with the same 3/8" lines.
But then I'm running AN-8 PTFE lines this time for feed and return. Same filter and an Edelbrock mechanical pump. Might upgrade to the Victor pump.
Always ran an AeroMotive bypass regulator after the carb and will for this build.

@Jim1855 Thanks for your input. I'm leaning towards 3/8" for this one.
