For the 2025–2026 school year, we are thrilled to introduce an exciting new initiative: a hands-on Factory Five Racing Shelby Cobra kit car build. This innovative program will provide students with real-world, project-based learning in engineering, problem-solving, and collaboration.
The program was approved with the understanding that it would be entirely funded through donations—ensuring no cost to local taxpayers. To launch this initiative, we must raise $60,000. While we are currently partnering with local businesses and community sponsors to support the inaugural build, we are still seeking additional financial contributions to make this vision a reality.
Upon completion, the finished Shelby Cobra will be sold, with proceeds reinvested into future builds—creating a sustainable program that can continue year after year.
Currently, KRHS does not have an automotive program, and while a few students attend the Concord Regional Technical Center, many do not have access to this type of technical education. This program will bridge that gap, offering students a unique opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a field that could shape their future careers.
