Several folks have asked me for the design files, and rather than sending the same email over and over again I'm posting them there for anyone to use. If there are any vendors on the forum that would like to offer this as a standard item on your website, consider this my permission to use these files as you please - I'm not looking to make anything off of this, just sharing for fellow builders to use. The benefit of using this box is that if you have a glove box, you get to keep at least part of the glove box depth if you want to have a heater. Normally with the heater installed in the stock firewall location, you can't install the glovebox. You may still need to trim the glove box depth down a little bit but you'll need to verify this on your particular setup. On my build, I took the carbon fiber dash glovebox, chopped the back off and shortened it a bit. What's left is a usable glove box a couple inches deep, and the heater pushing into the engine bay by a couple of inches. If you use the Firewall Forward mod, you may not need to chop off anything (I'm not sure so up to you to investigate). My build was a Coyote with glovebox, heater & wipers. It all fits.

I didn't include the actual cutout for the heater core opening or the two coolant pipes because these can be slightly different on each heater unit from Vintage Air. I will also say this: do NOT use the template FFR provides in the heater install instructions....your cutouts will be WAY off including the mounting holes. Instead, make a paper/cardboard mockup of the needed cutouts first so you get a perfect fit, than trace/transfer that over to the heater box. Lots of images/examples can be found on my build page:

For any builders that want to make this themselves, I recommend going to one of the many online sheet metal shops that can laser cut it for you. You could do it the old fashioned way too (print out 1:1, trace onto aluminum, cut). I used SendCutSend and they did the laser cutting & bending for me, but if you have your own small press brake (Harbor Freight) you might be able to bend it up yourself fairly easily.

This is my REV2 design. On my initial build, I didn't have the top face angled and so the heater didn't fit great initially. I ended up bending it up enough to make it work and then riveted it (explained on my build thread (https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?40632-ATX-MKIV-9644-Coyote-Build-Thread-(Index-Post-137)&p=522394&viewfull=1#post522394)). After this, quite a few people asked me for the files so I updated the design to fix it. A fellow builder, Michael O'Brien, tested it out for me and confirmed it worked great.
