After 23 years, the wipers were making a bad noise when I used them last weekend....

And since I cannot remember the last time that I needed to use the wipers, I am pretty confident that the
old grease has dried out.. I do have the installation instructions from 2002 so that will help eliminate some
confusion..

The two methods that I am envisioning are to disassemble the wheel houses from under the cowl and leave
the wiper shafts in place...

OR to remove the crown nut on the top of the wiper shafts and dropping everything down as an assembly.

Any other ideas ??

I had to replace a bad motor 2 years ago and re-lubed MARIAH's cables then.
Since the motor was out, I just took everything out and disassembled on the table.
Just time consuming.
Perhaps there is a partial disassembly that does it for you.

Id think id drop them down, then you can clean the old grease out of the wheel boxes easier

As much as I hate the idea of having to R&R those delicate little wiper wheelboxes, like John, I also think it's good practice to look at greasing as SERVICING. Servicing can be just a visual inspection of working components but may end up including replacing bits and pieces as you go through it. You know the drill "I've got it this far apart, I may as well ______" . Short cuts make for short trips said my Dad to whoever wasn't listening (me).
