Anyone had any experience in installing the fuse box on the Mk V roadster yet? The build manual and wiring manual are of little help and I believe they are still for the Mk IV model. Almost no room in the upper driver foot box area. Thanks!

You're right. No detail in the Mk5 build manual yet. I have REVISION 1L, FEBRUARY 2025. Only a reference to the wiring instructions. Looking at the Mk5 frame gallery on FF's website, the Mk5 has the same diagonal downtube in the driver's side footbox as the Gen 3 Coupe. No surprise since the two seem to be very similar. In the Gen 3 Coupe manual, it shows the RF fuse box mounted on this diagonal tube and that's what I did. Some have said it looks like it would be in the way (e.g. hit with your knees, etc.) but it's well out of the way. Starting my fifth driving season with my Gen 3 Coupe. Haven't gotten close to it yet. I'd recommend the same location. It works. This is a picture from my build thread:

Thanks Edward, I was considering the same place but was also apprehensive of left leg interference. With your real world testing I think I’m good with it there. I have an e-mail in to FFR to see what their engineers were thinking ( or not) on this issue. The pedal box did not fit properly either but a small mod fixed that. Thank you for the picture as well! I’ll post an update on the finished install for everyone.

I installed mine this weekend, and agree with you. I trimmed the panel a little (Took a notch off where it interferes with the clutch MC, removed the front lip, and trimmed the side lip so that it can be installed “under” the left top bar. I also put a small piano hinge across the leading edge where it mounts to the top bar so that it can rotate down. It is (or will be) held up by a small thumb screw. Final install is waiting until my clutch MC arrives with my engine.

Wolfe, care to comment on the pedal box issue. I am about there and would benefit from your learning experience.
Thanks, Ralph

The inboard MC top was contacting the square frame tube above it preventing the MC being able to bolt up flush with the pedal box attachment point. I used a few washers to slightly tilt the pedal box downward on that side so that the top of that MC just slides barely under the frame tube and the MC bolted up fine. This was a very small adjustment and I don’t think it has any adverse effect on the MC’s or pedals. Saw a picture of this area on FFR page of a mk v and it looks like they did the same thing. Attempting to attach a couple of my photos but not sure how yet.214175[ATTACH=CONFIG]214176[/ATTACH214175214176]214175214176

If it were me I think I would have notched that top plate to make room for the MC. I agree I don’t think having a slight tilt will have much of an effect.

wolfe, I noticed in your photos that you re-purposed the black strap clamps on your MC filler fittings. I was curious where these were to be used, and noticed in the Wilwood instructions they were to hold the Wilwood plastic brake reservoir onto the MC. Was this your idea or something recommended previously?
I am also curious why the instructions say to mount the outgoing brake line fitting up verses to the side as you have done. Horizontal seems to make more sense in routing.
Thanks, Ralph

Thanks for the post... at this stage now... ever hear back from your email to FF? Anyone got pix of your install yet?

Check my build thread. I put it where the build school suggested.
