View Full Version : Differential cover
So I'm replacing my differential cover with the SVO one and it came with a gasket that says no sealer required, has anybody used one and does not leak?

Well, if Ford say install dry, then why question their instructions?

I agree with Rich. I've used the LubeLocker gaskets on several Ford 8.8 rear diffs with no leaking.

That brand of gasket has never leaked on the Ford 10.5" axle in my truck. I wouldn't use sealer on it.

Used the gasket that came with the FORD part. No sealer. Still good. No leaks

Of course they say don't use sealer. It already has it. Same thing with the lube-locker gaskets. Those lines are cured RTV.

I used Edelbrock Gasgacinch, it's more of a dressing and to hold the gasket in place during assembly. Another tip I read on here a while back is never pull the Drain Bolt, they are difficult to seal back up.

Gasgacinch is the best. I used it on the intake manifold gaskets to hold them in place and it worked great!
