So I got the engine and transmission in on the MK IV and realized that the driveshaft with the kit was for a TKO and I have a T5. Shot a message to Travis and he told me to send it back and they'd send the right one out, no big deal. Great service.

But I did notice that the one I had not only had the wrong spline pattern, but seemed like it was going to be too long. I'm now worried when I get the replacement (Part Number 15956) it may also be the wrong length for my application.

From the back of the 302 here's what I've got:

Bell Housing (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/IST-BHF-8640): 6.930 in depth
T5 Transmission (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/FMS-M-7003-Z): 7.180 in tail shaft

I know that there are multiple tail shaft lengths for the T5 and I'm wondering if I have a combo that will work with the 15956 shaft when it gets here? Here's a photo of where the tail roughly falls, still need to center it up and put support frame in.

I think your fine. I had a T5 in my first build and by the looks of it our tail shafts stop around the same spot. T5/302 is the OG FFR setup.

Just to close the loop I received an answer from Travis:

Shaft 15956 for 302/T5/IRS/28 Spline is 8.38" long
Shaft 60175 for Coyote/TKX/31 Spline is 10.50" long
