I know that quite a few of you run wheel spacers, especially on the coupes, so I thought I'd pass this along in case you haven't heard this before. I certainly had not. Very important advice on installing wheel spacers safely to avoid losing a wheel.

Wish I had seen this a month ago. Just finished up a recent build and went out for a test drive. All the lugs had been properly torqued. About a mile from home, felt a little vibration and the left rear wheel and tire passed by me! Luckily I was only driving about 25 mph and the car slowly sat down on the chassis with no damage. I found the spacer and lug nuts laying in the road. After I loaded and brought the car back I found all the wheels had loose lugs as a result of the spacers moving around. Re-cut the interior hole of the spacer with a lathe to fit the axle dimension (only took a few thousands to make it fit) now all is well.

I chased a vibration for months, balanced the tires, replaced the tires, dial indicated the rims... It wound up being the left front wheel spacer.
