I feel like I made a big step forward, both doors are faired in and I'm calling that a wrap. Time to move on to the easier trunk and hood alignment.

You may be disappointed if you think the hood and trunk are easier.

Hood and trunk are easier by an order of magnitude.

Ah, what do you know, Kleiner. Lol. I guess I remember struggling mightily with my hood and trunk on my MkIII, but my memory is hazy, apparently.

Can you post a picture from the top of your door to dash interaction? Trying to decide my next move on the doors

Here's212865 a picture of the bottom side of the door. I added about an inch of filler to close the gap and make the door meet the dash. I used Evercoat fibertech material to build up material and then I covered that with rage gold filler.
My hood and trunk are already installed, I have to make a small adjustment on the hood to shift it to the right, no sanding needed. The trunk needs to shift a little to the left with minor trimming on one side.

Kirby,
Not sure exactly what you're looking for but here are a few pics from various cars that might help:

Here's a look viewing into the front of a driver's side that shows the profile after shaping:

Finished driver's side looking in at the front edge of the door from a lower angle:

And the finished driver's side at the rear of the door:

Hope those give you some idea of where you want to end up.

As always thanks Jeff. The photo showing the buildup to fiberglass was perfect. I was also looking for an aiming point to what should be considered done.

Mr Jeff does pretty darn nice work. I remember in one of his posts he said he looks at the tops of doors to see how much time the builder spent on making them right.

Thanks! I have to admit that the doors are the first thing my eyes are drawn to. If they look like this, well...that kind of tells me all I need to know ;)

That's great work Jeff. You pointed out the area on the door that once you see it, it can't be unseen.
