MK 4 hood on MKI

Will a MK 4 hood work on a MK I ??

I have air cleaner clearance fitment problems with a 460 in a MK I.
I can buy a Super Snake hood from a forum member but it is made for
a MK 4.

What would I need to do to make a MK 4 hood work??

13 inch air cleaner hits on passenger side.
A smaller air cleaner would only fit with an element height under 1 and 1/2 inches.

Mk4 hood will not fit a Mk1,2 or 3. They are a different curvature front to rear as well as side to side. I'm assuming that you want to be able to add a scoop to gain clearance, right? If you cut the scoop off of your Mk1 hood you can the use a larger rivet/bolt on scoop from Shell Valley. They offer two sizes; the larger one would cover the hole without needing to build it in:
