My engine, transmission, and drive shaft are installed. Things were looking pretty good. This is my first build, and sometimes I feel like I take more steps backwards than I do forwards. I attempted to connect my clutch cable when I realized that the clutch release bearing wasn't engaging the diaphragm springs of the clutch assembly till the last 10% or so of the throw. In other words, the pedal was mostly depressed before the clutch engaged, and then it runs out of room. I need to somehow move the clutch fork back further. I think when I installed the pivot ball stud, I set it too short, but I'm not sure. I thought it may be the cable length, so I got a new, better one and fire wall adjuster from Forte but it didn't solve the problem. The problem is the position of the clutch fork. To fix this, do I need to pull the entire motor and transmission? I don't think I can adjust the pivot ball stud by just removing the transmission, there doesn't appear to be enough room.

I think you can do it by moving the trans back. I guess it depends on how tight you got it and how much room you have to swing a wrench.

Have you double checked to make sure that the throw out bearing is installed correctly on the clutch fork? If incorrectly installed the travel can be affected.

I double and triple checked, the throwout bearing is installed correctly
