Can anyone help? I've got 302+TKX from Blueprint Engines with a hydraulic throwout bearing, but this is not installed in the frame yet. However I want to install the pipe run out of the footbox so I can complete the aluminium before the engine goes in. The FFR manual of course only shows installation of a cable clutch, so is there any kind person who could post photos of how they've run the hydraulic line from the footbox out into the engine bay? Thanks guys!

Here's how I ran mine.

Many thanks for the reply John. I hadn't thought of running a flexible hose back to the master cylinder (I was thinking I needed to use hard line down to the tunnel) but that's a good solution.

Exactly how I ran mine with same setup. Your kit should have come with a braided steel 4AN line if you specified the hydraulic clutch option from FFR. Its an easy run, but I found I needed to add a 90 degree adapter at the clutch end between the 4AN hose and the input line to the clutch release bearing.
Happy building!

Many thanks for your reply Jason. Indeed I did specify the hydraulic clutch option from FFR - the kit came with a master cylinder and reservoir, but sadly no braided line. This wasn't included in the inventory listing, so I didn't call it out as a shortage when I checked the delivery. That was a year ago so I've missed the deadline for reporting shortages. I got caught the same way with the rear brake braided lines which weren't listed on the inventory either.

Anyhow, because mine is RHD, the standard braided line probably wouldn't have been long enough, because the flexible lines exit the bell housing on the side furthest away from the pedal box. Because of the distance, I think I'll run a hard line anyway - I can route it down under the transmission tunnel.

Thanks, Peter

Ha! Welcome to the club. I also missed a couple things on the initial inventory. You are in good company, here! And yep, no way the supplied braided line would have been long enough to get where you want to go.
RHD is too cool. I get to drive RHD cars from time to time in the Caribbean, as I am a seasonal sailboat captain. But left hand traffic roundies make me anxious...

Right hand drive is also a challenge with the 65 coupe - although the RHD kit is good as far as the steering column mounts are concerned, the rack (manual) supplied wouldn't go into the correct position - the input shaft collided with the frame. I took this up with FFR and, to their credit, the engineering department developed a modified solution, though this did require me to take the rack apart to put spacers in it - they sent me all the parts though. I also had issues with the footbox - if you think of how little space there is in the passenger footwell of a LHD coupe, you can imagine that there isn't enough space for the driver's feet when the pedals are in there too! So I've had to re-make the aluminium for the inside and front walls of the footbox to make a bigger space. I'm fitting a SBF motor and as best as I can measure with the motor outside the car, I don't think the starter motor will interfere with the new footbox inner wall - at least I hope it doesn't!

And that has been the coolest part of it all, for me. Just working through all of the challenges and "opportunites" that building these cars offers. I wouldn't trade it for anything!
