Anyone done it? My car gets a lot of use, rain or shine, road and track.. will it stand up?

Specific material or manufacturer? Thickness?

How to fix it in place? Screwing into fiberglass doesn’t seem enough. Maybe go straight through and washers both sides?

Thanks for any tips.

Ps I don’t have wipers and use aquapel already.

I would think Lexan would get chipped up pretty easy by the rocks

Although I could be wrong .. "Lexan is 250 times more impact-resistant than glass and 30 times more resistant than acrylic. This means it can withstand strong impacts without cracking or chipping.".. But then... "The cons of LEXAN are that it is easier to scratch, and minor scratches cannot be polished away"

Yeah it’s pretty important to buy the right stuff - roadster owners here are reporting flawless after years of using Lexan *♂️

I ran Lexan in the past and will again for this build. It does get lightly pitted after a while, but I didn't think it was too bad. Certainly not as bad as the stone chips on the nose of the car. Upside it generally won't crack like glass will, it's a lot lighter and easier to DIY. Downside it might not be as clear as glass and won't have DOT certification.

1/4” thick lexan is what we use in all the racecars , you can get it from five star racing in 4x8 sheets, way stronger then glass, doesn’t scratch easily, and you can put a several layers of tear offs on it so when it gets dirty at the track you can pull a layer off, just remember to always add more when you get to the last two ,never run with just the last layer or you will have to replace the lexan,we ran ours for a full racing season,36 events with zero issues

Drill straight through the lexan and fiberglass and counter sink the lexan and use counter sink Allen bolts and nuts,we ran 1/4 20 to hold it in
