Thermostat housing

I have a Smeding 427W. The engine did not come with a thermostat or housing. Doing some research and reading old posts on this and ffcars forums, the housing that is recommended is:

This is the ford performance mustang 79-95 right angle housing. Well, it's backorder from all retailers till about January next year. Any recommendations on what I should use instead?

I used Canton 80-056. No gasket, just RTV.

That Ford one, or any steel T housing, can be problematic especially if it's chrome plated (hydrogen embrittlement). Do yourself a huge favor and spend the money on this one. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/csi-9111c

O-ring seals insure it never leaks and no RTV mess.
