Recently I was shopping for a New bellhousing for my 33HR. My build Plan is for a SBF Cleveland and a TKX. I have found at least 3 OEM types that fit (i'm not counting Scattershield types)
Of course there is the Ford performance parts M-6394-R58 Casting # on part E3ZR-6394-AA $299 At Summit and Jegs look very nice,.......
and the Tremec Brand version of the Ford part above. No Casting number visible on the part. And the casting in photos I saw did not look all that great. About the same price as Jegs and summit for the FPP Bell. The Quality does Not look nearly as good as the OEM made parts
I found a Ford D9ZC-6394-BA Bellhousing at a swap meet last Saturday For $100. The 79-82 V8 4speed Mustangs used this Bell as the SROD transmissions were really just a old Toploader without the external linkage and different ratios. The SROD uses the same trans pattern as the TKO and TKX.
And The Ford Performance parts Bells Both The T-5 AND the Tremec Bell are the SAME CASTING. The 2 Trans Bolt holes on the driver side are in different spots. Even the D9ZC...Bell i bought last week has the spots to drill to convert from SROD to T-5
