Looks like all of my gauges, signals, fans, etc are working EXCEPT for the oil pressure gauge. When I turn the key to run, the gauge sweeps from 0 to 100 and then back but then goes to 100 and stays there. I tried unplugging it while on and the gauge does not return to zero. I've been oil priming the system and the oil is a flowing in the rockers but the gauge doesn't respond and just remains at 100. This gauge wires directly to the sensor in the block.
Time to call Speedhut or is there something else I should check?

Either the wire is shorted or the gauge is bad. Call Speed Hut, they will take care of you.

Where did you install your oil pressure sender? Did you use Teflon tape on the threads? If so, you might not have a good ground. Consider thread sealer paste in such a case.

X2 on this, ANY sensor that has only one wire needs the body grounded to the engine. AND check that engine to make sure it is grounded good.

Thanks guys. Temp sender is in the typical location on the drivers side right below the head. I never use tape, always just a high temp Permatex thread sealer. I put a call into Speedhut. The gauges are custom printed so hopefully doesn’t take too long.

Could be a bad sender. Would be easy to swap out to test.

If you have a multimeter you can check the resistance on the sending unit to confirm that it's working properly. You'd have to look up what the specific range should be.

Also you can check to some extent the gauge. W/ key on pull the wire off the sender and ground it. Gauge should go to full 100# and then back to zero when you take the wire off the ground.

Speedhut are 2 wire gauges and senders.
Speedhut has a procedure to check & verify if the gauge is good or if it's the sender. Ask them.

If it were me I would pull the sender, re connect and see if it does the same thing. Have you started your engine yet?

Thanks Rich. I went through a couple of exercises with the Speedhut tech.
1. Connected only the power to the back of the gauge, disconnecting the sensor harness. Gauge did full sweep then to zero.
2. Connected power and the harness to the back of the gauge, then disconnected the plug at the sensor. Gauge did full sweep then to zero.
3. Reconnected the plug into the sensor. Gauge did full sweep then to 100.
So the issue is the sensor at the block. SH is sending me a new one 2 day priority. Great service!

I had the same experience last fall and after speking with Sppedhut and running the tests, it was the sender. 2 days later they sent me a new sender at no charge (even though the gauges were several years old) and only asked for an update if the sender solved the problem. Seems like a good company to deal with.

My interactions with Speedhut have been great. Our DMV requirements are for 6 digit odometer. I enquired with Speedhut, they were happy to help. They wrote new code, updated the speedometer and returned to me, all the way down under, no charge. That's pretty impressive.
