Hello All!

In an attempt to take the look of the engine bay to the next level, I've decided to eliminate all rubber hoses. I'm utilizing the brake reservoirs that came with my MKIV kit. I would like to convert the given copper barb fittings to 4AN fittings. Does anyone have any idea the thread size & count that fit the brake and clutch reservoir? I've compared against my thread checker 10mm x 1.0 & 1.25, 7/16-14 & 20 are not the correct fit... any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!

Good deal, that could explain why the fitting would only screw in to a certain point (2-3 turns), seems like is designed to create the seal. Am I correct in this?

Yes. You've described NPT.

They are 1/8-27 NPT. You should be able to get fittings that will adapt 1/8-27 NPT to AN3 or AN4

Good rule of thumb is to have the supply lines off the reservoir 4an and the brake hardlines post MC 3an as it helps avoid any scavenge issues. Our systems are (usually) not that high powered with the base kit stuff so you are fine either way. Just remember low pressure scavenge side you can use aluminum. Post MC is high pressure and it all better be zinc steel / stainless AN. I recommend stainless all the way around.

I had the same opinion of the rubber hoses and clamps. I converted the MC to -3AN fitting port using Wilwood 220-13130 Fitting M/C 11/16-20 -3AN.
I also used SS NPT to -3AN elbows, -3AN SS hoses and SS bulkheads.

The feed to my brake assembly seems to be a little different. Its threaded so it might be able to take the Wilwood 220-13130 Fitting M/C 11/16-20 -3AN. Wondering if mine requires a different fitting.

The Wilwood 220-13130 Fitting M/C 11/16-20 -3AN is the correct fitting for your Master cylinder. The adapter is externally threaded with an o-ring to seal between the MC and the adapter. It comes with a clamp to cover up the bare metal of the MC.
