I've seen a couple of posts about adding some support hangers to the side pipes (before the body is installed). I'm getting close to first start and want to go ahead and mount the side pipes. I have a kit from 2018 which is before FFR introduced the ball flange headers/pipes if that makes a difference. I have some questions below, but here's an example Kleiner posted from THIS POST (https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?31167-Greek-Guys-Garage-Roadster-Build-9509-(Nice-shoutout-on-Insta-about-my-build)&p=525225&viewfull=1#post525225). Questions below

For anyone else who is considering adding a front hanger I've made similar ones that attach just a little differently:

Jeff

My questions:
1) How necessary is it to add the hangers for go karting? If I don't add them, what are the risks?
2) Do people leave these hangers with the body on? Or do you only use them when go karting?
3) On my particular setup, I've added some heat deflectors to both footboxes to shield my footbox fresh air vent hoses from the header heat. With the solution Jeff proposed (which is great BTW), I don't think it would easily work with my heat deflectors because the top flange would be in the way. I could remove the heat deflector shields temporarily while go karting (they just screw on), but I was wondering if anyone has done similar heat shields with exhaust hangers? If so, please share a link to what you did. Here's a pic of my heat deflector for reference:

Darryl,
The front hangers that I showed are only used to supplement the usual side hangers with J-pipes or the ball flange headers and are not needed for the straight tube headers like yours. For go carting simply hold the pipes up with a piece of wire run up to the door hinge. I stole this picture from Greg Branham who cleverly swapped the pipes left for right which made a nice straight shot for the temporary hanger wire :)

This is a timely post. I was getting ready to search for these pics, as I'd like to add them to my car. While I've only go-karted a few miles around my neighborhood, the wire on the pipe has held things in position.
