Wondering how much additional headroom do they have sitting in the seat?

Chopping minds want to know

First, it's not just your overall height, it's your torso to leg ratio that will determine headroom. Short torso with long legs will give you more head room than the other way around.

When I was test fitting the various cars at FFR I sat in a 33 with the bench and one with the standard roadster seat. My take was you don't get more head room with the bench and it may be a little less than the roadster seat. The only seat that I tried that provided more headroom was the Kirkey low back vintage race seat. It is basically an aluminum seat bolted directly to the floor with a thin padded cover. I would guess the high back Kirkey seat would be the same.

FWIW, I am 6' with a 32" inseam. I purchased a 33 Speedstar with the standard roadster seats, I have about 2" of headroom. It would be tough to sit in the car with a helmet on. I did try on a 35 truck (before they stretched the cab 4") and I felt like I was sitting with my knees in my armpits. There was tons of headroom.

I'm going to guess that legroom is going to be more of your issue. I'm 5'9" and actually raised my seat up and there's still a ton of headroom. Legroom on the other hand, my left foot basically has to rest on the clutch pedal or bend my knee.

i dropped my bench lower, from using 4x6 to 2x6. like it better, with the 4" raise, i couldnt see stoplights. with the 2", i have a better field of vision, imo
