View Full Version : Wiring up the fuel pump

Hey everybody,

I'm connecting up my in-tank fuel pump and I have a wiring question.
The two wires from the rear harness read "Fuel Pump" and "Elect Fuel" respectively, leading to a female plug.
I shopped for the male counterpart, but couldn't find one.
I decided that I would just replace both plugs with an available new set (in photo below).

Here is the question, does it matter which wire connects to which?
Will the pump run backwards if the polarity is reversed?

Yes, the polarity matters. The brown wire is positive and the black is ground.

So, does that mean that the wires coming out of the fuel pump, the red is positive and the black is ground?

Note: the pump will run either way, if it's not correct, no pressure!
