I have the independent rear with the 2015 IRS 11.65 brakes.

There is no picture that matches my setup in this documentation. Neither is there any demonstration of this set up in the manual. One bolt holding the brake on is in the way of the cable path.

I took the bolt out to install the cable, thinking that after the cable is in place there might be room behind it for bolt. Nope. Apparently my physics teacher was right...two objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time.

What am I doing wrong?

I had to file/grind the opening to allow the cable to clear the bolt. I think Factory Five discusses it in the instructions, which don't seem to be currently available on their website. https://www.factoryfiveparts.com/instructions/ (#16765)

I have the exact setup in the rear. The instructions for 11.65 for the 2015 IRS tell you to oval out the holes with a 1/2" drill bit. I had to get aggressive on this to get enough room to assemble the cable.

What caliper manufacture came up with that absurd design?
Wouldn't any vehicle it would be used on still be facing this cable issue?
You are not the only one who struggled with those!!
This is what I did back then.
here's the only thread I have started during my built lol!

There are some details and photos in my build thread on how I worked through it. Starts at post 86. You will also find that you can't route the cables as described in the instructions/manual. The current arrangement has the caliper mounted toward the rear of the spindle versus at the top. The instructions are for the calipers mounted at 12:00, and it simply don't work for the current arrangement. Post 87 goes into what I did.

I bought these button head bolts to replace the star bolts since the heads were much shorter.

Then after screwing them in place, I checked to see how much clearance I had.

Seemed like enough to squeeze the cable by so I manhandled it with a few cuss words and got it into place.
Everyone was right, the routing is a challenge but I guess I will attach the cable to the control arm as recommended by others.
I think it is poorly designed but what can you do?

I used flat head bolts and countersunk that hole.
