Like to move away from the toggle switch turn signal.
Wondering users experiences with this switch
https://microflexlabs.com/collections/turn-signal-switches/products/column-mounted-turn-switch
I’m a little concerned with the longevity and repairability of the holographic electronics.
I’m aware it’s expensive however shipping my column to someone down south, being without the column for a month or two and shipping back will be more expensive.
Appreciate the feedback from users or suggestions on alternatives out there that do not require shipping my parts away.
Cheers

I am using the switch from Frank at ie427… it’s a very quality piece. You can change the stalk for a more traditional appearing switch. You only have to ship the hub for machining…

I bought the MicroFlex turn signal switch and controlled. It seems like really nice quality stuff.
It looks good and adds no depth to the steering column (important for me in the Coupe - not sure if that's a problem in Cobra). You do need to make a 2 inch tube to mount it on
The owner, Kevin Cessac, is very quick to respond to questions too
I am currently doing the wiring, so I haven't tested it out yet.

Wonder if I could drop ship a hub from FFR to Frank. Might be worth asking.

I see on their site they offer a ready-to-install column mount for the Mk4

Wondering if this can be installed into a finished dash. I see the column is 2" and the hole in my finished dash is smaller.

The only part that needs to be 2" is the where the turn signal ring actually attaches to the steering column. So I'm sure you could make something that is smaller as it goes through the dash, then expands to 2" at the switch:

What sensor does it use to detect rotation? Does the sensor come with the switch? I assume you attach it to the steering shaft?
Or does this switch not self cancel?

There are two parts:
1) the turn signal switch on the column that is nothing but a momentary switch
2) the control module (goes under the dash) that uses built in gyros/accelerometers to know when you turn. So it does self-cancel. Just like an OEM, if you don't make a very big turn it may not recognize to cancel it. You just press the turn signal again to turn off the flasher
You can use any momentary switch with the control module - you don't necessarily have to use theirs

He has a waiting list. Send him an email.

Like your dash switches. Where’d you get them?
I have the FFR supplied toggles all over the dash. Makes it a real pain to remember what everything is .

Check out these guys, very high quality. https://billetautomotivebuttons.com/collections/22mm-billet-buttons
They come with connectors w/pigtails but you can order them with the pins and connectors loose so you don't have a bunch of splices.

I got them from Billet Automotive Buttons, like Mike posted above.
The switches I got are rated for 18 amps, so can eliminate a few relays. Real nice stuff.

I used them for everything, headlights, high beams, flashers, seat heaters, and trunk latch. Love them.

What size are your Billet buttons? I'm going to be getting some soon for my coupe and still working out what size would be best.

Mine are 19mm. Except the START button, which is 28mm.

Just received my Microflex Labs light controller, turn signal switch and steering column today. Was packed well and looks to be a quality solution that I will be installing in my Roadster. Want to thank Kevin at Microflex Labs for the conversation we had over the phone and creating what looks like a functional item that is much needed for the Roadster. Well definitely better than the toggle switch that came with the Roadster kit. The wiring diagram for the Ron Francis wiring harness is appreciated.

Update on my installation of the Microflexlabs turn signal solution. Still have a lot of the wiring harness to cleanup as i did a major purge of any unneeded wires. Like the hot rod connector as well I installed reverse light wiring and updated the in tank fuel pump wires to a larger gauge since this is wired to the Holley Sniper 2 PDM in the engine bay. I mounted the Microflexlabs controller on an a rigid piece of aluminum along with the headlight relay. The controller is self cancelling based on the position of the controller when you turn the vehicle and does not rely on timing duration. I haven't tested this yet as I'm not quite ready for go cart mode.
Following the roadster wiring diagrams for the RF wiring harness posted on the MicroflexLabs website was very straight forward and everything worked as expected from the beginning. Next I will be mounting the steering column and turn signal control once I finish up the rest of the wiring of the dash. I also upgraded the front turn signals to LED bulbs and will be eventually upgrading to all LED bulbs for everything.
Overall I am extremely happy how this system works and how it turned out. Here are some pics.

Looks great!
What gauges are you running?
I’ll need to upgrade in the near future.

The gauge cluster is the Factory Five Vintage Gauge Set with GPS speedometer. The speedometer has a has a small LCD display that can be changed for different functions (trip, max speed, compass , etc) using one of the momentary blue buttons to the left.

Working on installing one of these as well. A few questions. Did you use the wires from the RF harness that running up to the steering column to tie onto? Thinking of removing that connector and tying on there.
Brake input- can’t tell if they want a ground or positive input (what did you use?)
Hazard control- how did you wire this? It looks they they’re interrupting the right rear turn signal and it feeds white in orange out from the microlab controller. Appreciate the help.

You can use the wires from the Hot Rod Column connector at the steering column or the dash harness wires. The RF dash harness has the left front/back and right front/back turn signal wires shorted together at the turn signal swich. Be sure to un-short these wires in the dash harness.
Brake input expects positive input when the brake is applied.
Hazards will flash when there is a positive voltage on the controllers orange wire. If you wire the hazards switch to an always hot source then the hazards will work even if the key is off.
There is a wiring diagram for the RF harness on their website. https://microflexlabs.com/pages/ffr-roadster-installation
