I am fitting the body and have a concern about a hard hit on my dash. My dash is installed so it falls below the edge of the tubular steel bar, but it it still rubbing in that area. On passenger side, I cut 2" off end and have more room to "push" dash forward so it does not hit. Should I trim drivers side the same way to allow be to bend dash back some more? I'm afraid with the dash hitting in this spot, the body won't sit properly for door fitment. Thoughts???

Dash should be sitting 1/4”-3/16” below the frame at the corners. I didn’t need to trim anything off my DS dash. Just bent it to sit behind the hinge. My corners did rub the body a bit despite being low enough

I recurved the dash to close the hole above the hinge. I trimmed it for length but can’t recall trimming the top. Did a better job of getting the length correct on the passenger side.

I am w/ Norm. But, I have to say I think you are approaching this a bit backwards. Why do you have the dash permanently mounted before you know if it will fit w/ the body. To me this is a try this and try that and work your way closer until they both work.

Looking closely at your pictures and I don’t see any bulb seal on the firewall. The body normally rests on this. Also the body will pull up and change shape a little with the rocker panel attached at the bottom and splash panels in place.
I agree with Craig, I had the body on and off 3 times fitting various things until I was happy and permanently attached the dash.
