I'm probably the only yoyo doing this combination at the moment. But before I bought my kit I wanted to do a base kit build. I found a fox body brake handle for $15 5-6 years ago and bought it. However I'm finding it a PIA to get working smoothly. The issue I have is that I can get the brake to engage but when I put the lever down the brake doesn't release. If I go to each wheel I can manually pull the cables up/out to get the brake to disengage. It takes a some effort to do this. I did a search and couldn't really find anything exactly like this on the forum though there are a ton of parking brake questions.

I see that the Fox Body Mustang crowd modifies their handles for disc brakes. They lock the self adjuster with a weld or bracket and cut the spring in the handle. Is that need here? Is the spring maybe creating too much tension on the line? I've seen the post with the pulleys and I'm going to re-read these. But I was wondering if anyone thought I maybe I should also or first modify the handle.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, just unhook the spring. It should work then.
