Looks like I need some body wedges or wedge washers on the legs. Any suggestions as to where to find them.
thanks

Cleve,
Most of us had to bend the windshield legs a bit to make them properly fit.
The material is Chrome Plated Brass so you need to go super easy on manipulating them.
Once you get them paralleled you will need some spacers that will take up the remaining gaps where it mounts.
Do Not Stress The Windscreen Or It Will Crack!
Another thing that many of us did was to thread the hole so that you can snug things up easily during the fitting process.
Once you are happy with the location you can add a locking nut to keep things permanently in place.
Final, make sure that the body slots have proper clearance to avoid an unintended stress points.

Body shims in various thicknesses (a few 1/8" and 1/16" should do). Available at auto body supply stores or online through Amazon, Speedway, Summit, etc.

I used shims as described above for the initial fit and my gel coat miles. Seems like not all the same needs when it comes to shimming the windshield but mine turned out to be 1/8" on passenger side, 0 on DS. I made up a 1/8" alum shim that I permanently mounted to the frame mount so I could slide in the windshield in future without having to fumble around with shims. I know not the question asked but highly recommend tapping the brass windshield upright (think I did 1/2"-13) instead of bolt/nut approach. That makes things much easier.

Thanks everyone. We did bend our legs and they fit fairly good but the one on the driver side is slightly twisted so I think wedge washer will help out.

If you have to stack them, hit them with spray adhesive to hold them together. It cuts down on the four letter words.

What a great tip, so simple. Never thought of it.

and if you haven't found the hack yet, drill/tap the post with 1/2"-13 tap and you can install the bolts much easier w/o fumbling around for the nut on the back side.

I did the Forte windshield brackets (https://fortesparts.com/product/factory-5-quick-release-windshield-brackets/) and love the way they make the windshield an ease to install. I know some throw rocks at them but I really don't understand why.

This is how I did the installation initially (https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?27544-40-Watt-Garage-amp-9365&p=367063&viewfull=1#post367063) - ran it for 4+ years this way. I made up some shims from ABS plastic sheet stock.
Then about a month ago I bought the Whitby Soft Top. Had to adjust my windshield angle (https://youtu.be/j7J3b9RrfOI?si=4J9tLS7pDrm7PmBk). I'm very glad I threaded the main side-bars!
