windshield wiper hole placement MK4

I'm about to drill the holes for the wipers but when placing the jig, after marking the line out 7/8" it does not seem close enought to the mounted windshield.

The second picture seems more like were it should be located based on the instructions and other pictures I've seen in the forums?

Let me know before I drill a life changing hole! lol

Second pic is correct. Should go up against the body and not the lip.

oh shoot, thx for the reminder, I need to do this before I send it off to paint

The none with the tape measure is correct. This was a change with the MKIV the wiper instructions should be on FFRs website, GO to the parts section then instructions.
