Hi there. Just started my project and will probably have lots of questions. Right now I am working on the rear diff and spindles..

I am having trouble fitting the spindle with its spacer into the bracket on the frame. The bracket is a hair to narrow. I have tried to compress the spacer with a clamp and to pry the bracket open a bit more with a prybar but not getting it.. Any suggestions?211492

Use a piece of all thread and two nuts to make a spreader.

Use a piece of all thread and two nuts to make a spreader.

IMO this is the preferred method. Add a couple of flat washers between the nuts and the tabs so as not to mar the paint. Note that washers have a smooth edge and a sharp edge on their OD from the stamping process used to make them. Orient them accordingly for this operation.

You will likely need to do this in several places during suspension install. Earl's advice is spot-on.
