DS Cockpit Floor Panel Fitment

Anyone trim this tab off for the DS floor panel and replace with an aluminum clip angle at a later time?

The tab is sandwiched by FFR between the A panel and the DS foot box inside bottom panel. I noticed some builders have this tab located inside the cockpit but when I tried to fit it this way it causes the front DS foot box panel to not sit flush against the inside corner vertical tube for a good rivet set.

I don't want to set or lock in the DS floor panel until I need to for access purposes but at the same time start the DS foot box panels.

The first thing I was going to say is that you need to get those two panels to fit better, then saw that it was my photo. LOL. I spent a good amount of time correcting that area. Once I did that, everything fit nicely.

I have a good fitment at the moment with the tab sandwiched as shipped by FFR. The pic was just intended to show the tab in question, not how the current fit up looks. I can wait to lock in the DS floor panel after running fuel (mechanical fuel pump) and brake lines including DS mounted emergency brake on tunnel top but thought there might be another workaround.
