What's the best way to address a lose stud on the wheel hub? Are the stamped in? Are they different for front and rear?

Thanks, Steve

Steve,

The studs are pressed in. They are different front to rear. Most studs have a flange on the back side so they cannot pull through even if it is a little loose. You should be able to hammer a loose stud out with a hammer. A machine shop could press in a new stud for you.

Brain...discovered the whole hub (all studs) moves about 1/16 of an inch side to side...like if you turned a steering wheel. No wobble or anything like that. I double checked the hub nut...its snug at 240lbs...What do you think?

fisherste, you didnt give much detail other then a loose stud. Sounds like you have the rotor on the hub, if so that is normal movement of the rotor on the wheel studs. The holes in the rotor are 1/16 to an 1/8 larger then the wheel studs and its completely normal for slight movement and nothing to worry about. Hope this helps and good luck.
