My horn just gave out today (and I needed it!) for the person cutting through a parking lot and not looking.
Anyway, my old horn just stopped working, and it really wasn’t very good anyway. I’m looking to do an upgrade and no, I do not want the train horn. If I wanted the train horn, I would’ve bought a locomotive.
Any ideas for a good horn for Cobras that can be heard over our engines? The Hella airhorn looks like a good idea but it looks quite complicated for wiring.
Would love to hear your thoughts if you’ve had similar issues and what you used for horns

The horns that came with my MKIV kit are plenty loud. Not train horn loud but louder than a typical OEM car or truck which is what you need with these cars. You might check with Factory Five about buying a set.

Go to Auto Zone/Advance Auto/O'Reillys/Napa and buy two of those disc horns. One is high-tone, the other is low-tone. Use them both. That's what the Mk4 has.
Or, there's those motorcycle specific ones that are plenty loud as well, but they usually require a relay.

The Ron Francis harness already has a horn relay.

I tried a Bosch disk horn but it sounded like an import. I landed on these; I got a high and low tone.

Many European cars have twin horns that are loud and have a good note. Hit the salvage yard.

These $25 horns from HF aren't bad. Used them a couple times. https://www.harborfreight.com/automotive/automotive-accessories/horns/12v-twin-disc-horn-58807.html

I have a Bad Boy horn. Has a nice (loud) Euro Sports car sound. Not overly loud but certainly a bit louder then the FF horn.

Got a Hella Ferrari replica horn. Cheap, loud, easy to install, and cool as hell.

I put Hella tri-air horns in both of my builds. Here’s a demo:

I made the brackets myself. You should be able to find them in my 15th anniversary build thread linked below.
