M-6017-M50HM is the right part number for the Gen4X control pack but the right description is GEN 4X COYOTE CONTROL PACK W/ MANUAL TRANS. Years 21-23 you listed is the date range for a Gen 3.

What, no M-9680-M50D Gen 4 Engine Cover? Not great but looks a little better than previous versions IMO.

Everything else looks OK. Just went through this review myself a few days ago...

Thanks for looking it over. I just got a 10% off coupon at autorama so looks like it's time to pull the trigger.

Are you looking for a Gen4 setup for the plane? :)

The airplane build is nearly complete and has its Rotax 915iS engine installed. So no Gen4 for that. And I'm not a fan of sugarplums. That's it for now.

For anyone else using the gen 4x crate engine, the gen 4 engine cover M-9680-M50D does not fit without adapters. I haven’t bought any adapters yet to confirm the gen 3 adapters will work but I’m assuming they will since the intake appears to be the same for the gen 3 and gen 4x.

Also the KRC power steering kit I received from FFR doesn’t come with the correct spacers due to Ford changing the timing cover for the 4x. KRC is aware but haven’t given me any indication that they’ll have a new spacer available in the near future. I just sent them a follow up email the other day since I haven’t talked to them in a couple of months when I first found the fitment issue.

Just cut down the top KRC spacer to 5/8” and everything will fit fine. No need to wait for KRC. You can check out my build thread, post #35.

Thanks for that measurement, I don’t venture into the roadster side very often so I missed your build thread!

Another option for the engine cover is this.
2024-2025 Roush Mustang Phase 1 Supercharger
PART #:422338
Wouldn't that turn a few heads at the cars-n-coffee

I ran in to both these issues in the past week as well. Grinding the KRC spacer down worked fine. Ill get the gen3 adaptors and try them out for the cover, I didnt know about these so thanks for the heads up.

Hi - Did anyone determine if the Gen3 Adapters work for installing the Gen 4 Cover to a 4X? Just got my cover and ran into this issue... Thanks in advance!

I ordered the Sanders Streetrods adapters and it looks like they're going to work out perfectly. They're a little visible when installed but I might see if I can get the rubber part out and get it powder coated black. Fat Fender sells something that looks identical, and Western Motorsports sells a version that looks like it's plastic rather than aluminum for half the price but I don't know how well those fit.

Following up on this thread: I realize you ordered the T-56 transmission. I’m hearing the TKX w/Gen IV Coyote requires a spacer. I believe Paul put an aluminator which required a 1” spacer. From what I gather the Aluminator is dimensionally the same as the Coyote - I’ll probably need a similar spacer. Nothing documented formally but it seems the experience w/o great solutions oddly enough. I do see that Fortes parts sells shims in 1/4” pieces.

To that end, there are spacers provided for the motor mount - what is used from this and does this interact w/the Tx spacer needs?

Did you run into this and what was your solution? I don’t have machining equipment so I won’t be able to fashion my own spacer.
For reference, I have a MkV w/Gen IV Coyote I’m prepping to install in the next few weeks.

Thanks!

Lots of variables here and I can't explain the differences. My Gen 3 Coupe (similar frame as the Mk5 Roadsters) with a Gen 3 Coyote, T-56, and IRS didn't require any spacers. That was with the transmission frame mount on the bottom. With the mount on the top, the shifter portion of the T-56 hit the underside of the transmission tunnel. My Mk5 Roadster with the Aluminator (same as a Coyote), TKX, and IRS required a 1" spacer as noted. Again, with the transmission frame mount on the bottom. That was the only way it would fit. These combinations resulted in acceptable pinion angles in both cases. I wouldn't necessarily trust any of this for anyone's specific build. Put it all together and see where you're at.

The motor mount spacers Factory Five provides for Coyote installations are required to keep the oil pan at the same level as the frame. Without them the oil pan would be below the frame and should be considered mandatory for a Coyote build. They are available separately but are included with the Coyote installation kit. They are installed by taking apart the kit provided Energy Suspension motor mounts and putting the spacer pieces between the motor mount halves. There are no parts for the transmission mount. But raising the engine with the mounts does indirectly affect the angle of the transmission.

Hi there, I don't want to hijack the thread but I'm planning a new build. Is the Gen4x coyote control pack available already? I heard conflicting reports that they are not available yet with a TBA (to be announced) date.

Thanks

They've been out for quite some time now, over a year at least. Part number is M-6017-M50HM.
