I recently picked up a partially completed MK4. Upon closer inspection it looks like the two front UCA's are not mounted the same. (See pics, note that the front side on one has two bolts while the other only has one.) Can someone tell me which is right or if it even matters? The manual didn't make it clear. Thanks in advance!

(We attempted to correct it but looks like we will need a ball joint puller to break it free. Any idea which type is best for this car?)

This is completely normal. Both arms are identical so naturally one will look wrong. Even taking them apart will not change that. Not an issue.

For the record, Mr. Mike Everson answered this same question for me when I built my car.
You just got an EXPERT RESPONSE from a man who has built over 200 Factory-5's.
Heck, he may be approaching 250 completed cars at this point in time.

Awesome! Thank you! I thought maybe flipping the ball joint bracket over would make the two UCA's mirror each other. Glad to hear I don't need to do that!
