This steering column from Microflex Labs (https://microflexlabs.com/) mounts using the pillow block bearing, like the old Russ Thompson unit.

The column provides a way to mount their model 104 turn signal switch. It clamps to the column with no mechanical connection to the steering shaft like other self-canceling turn signal switches. The 2-inch diameter column allows the FFR steering wheel boss to slide into the column for a clean look. The column length can be trimmed for driver comfort and the low-profile turn signal switch allows the steering wheel to be mounted close to the dash.

Microflex also has a turn signals lights controller that self-cancels turn signals using 3D gyroscopes and accelerometers, like the sensors used in cell phones and drones, by monitoring the cars turn velocity.
It also controls the hazards lights and can combine the turn signals and brakes to use a single bulb, so you don't need to use a bulb combiner for the rear lights.

I imagine the turn signal column switch would be compatible with the Signal Dynamics self cancelling control module I have already purchased. The column switch is basically just momentary switches for left and right.

Yes, the Microflex turn signals switch should work with the Signal Dynamics unit.

Signal Dynamics controller uses a timer to cancle the turn signals where the Microflex controller uses motion snesors to detect when you complete the turn.

Really nice quality stuff. I'm just starting wiring, but am excited to get it up and running to try it out

I made my own column out of 2 inch stainless tube. Because the switch is quite thin on the column, I'm able to have the steering wheel pushed up close to the dash for maximum run. Much more than with the Russ Thompson

Jim - is that an NRG quick release peeking out from the side? If so, you're right - that tucks in there pretty good.

There is a guy on Facebook that used the stubby in his coupe and it's pretty slick. I think most don't use it because A. they are a little pricey @ $1000 and B. they require fabrication of the existing hanger mount and steering shaft.

I personally think it's a great option as they have pretty much perfected the aftermarket steering column.
