All,
I’ve decided to do a different dash layout. Originally I was going to use the Holley 12” touch screen but I can’t get over the asymmetrical layout. With that in mind I ordered two 4” gauges (reverse speedo and tach) and 6 of the 2 1/16th gauges for pressure, temp and fuel etc. Now I’m looking at layouts. I can do two rows of three in the center of the dash along with the 4” instruments either straddling the steering wheel or perhaps both on the right side. I have done a few mock ups but I am not sure which way to go. Anyone have a favorite layout and picture that can help me out?
Thanks,
Dan

My layout was freehand. Very happy with it. 210651 210652 210653

I am in the early stages of my MKV build (with a CF dash), so forgive me if this is a rookie question…is there…or why is there not a simple PDF doc that has the basic gauges (Speedo/tach and other various smaller gauges) that you can print out, cut-out and play around with the layout before you purchase a full package? Is that available and I am just not aware of it? I was planning to create it for my own usage as I think I want to go with the slightly larger size dials with black bezels, but surely that has been solved in the past???

Here you go. I made this to mock up my dash. Red circle is the actual body/thread that has to go through the hole and the blue circle is the diameter of the plastic nut on the backside that needs to clear the frame hoop.

That is spectacular! Thank you, it will be very helpful. I know I am months away from needing it, and the CF dash was one of the few POL items from my kit but it has been something that I have been mentally fixated on.

Although not a CF dash, I went non-traditional, as well:

A few custom touches to mine ... ignore the shift boot, that's a WIP.

I actually have a 9 gauge layout but you get the point.

I like this dash attachement. I like how you built that out. May do the same.

Awesome! If it helps, here's a sketch with measurements of the aluminum plate.

And I just got notification that my speedhut gauges should arrive Friday. Whee. I still haven’t decided on layout but I am closer. Since I finished my driver side foot box today I sat in the car making engine noises and doing some steering. I really don’t like any of the big gauges behind the steering wheel. Might put a few of the small ones behind it and roll the tach and speedo to the right of the wheel. Will lay it out and see…

I am tinkering with the idea of putting this in as well:

Looking for a switch panel where i can integrate the battery disconnect as well.

Did an S/C layout. 7 gauges, but have two additional air vents. Away from any pics for a bit, but was posted earlier. Also photo copied the gauges, cut to size, then you can move around the dash to see how it works.
