I saw the Dave’s Facebook post this morning and it’s all very exciting previews

Lots of stuff to unpack here but top of my list is the possible carbon fiber body. Is it too much to think that with a carbon body one could leave the bare carbon weave instead of black stripes on a finished car? Meaning do we think the control between body and say hood and trunk will be close enough out of the gate to leave the carbon exposed or is this a pipe dream and all those joints are still going to require some body work making it impossible to leave bare? Jeff K if you are out there I would love to read your thoughts in regards to the carbon body.

I think we are all waiting to see these 30th anniversary cars.

I'm 100% positive that it can be pulled off with great accuracy after seeing this all Carbon Fiber C-10 Truck at this years Cruising The Coast event.

I just wish I was in the financial position to purchase one because these cars will be 100% special for sure.

Classic Recreations near me builds CF Cobras and 68 Mustangs. They do not leave the CF bare, usually the bodies are painted with a candy color that gives the car a color but the CF pattern is visible.

Of course you can just clear coat it.

While consulting with Dave and his guys on the Mk5 body we had many conversations regarding the CF bodies. They are to be done by the same methods as the CF panels used on the XTF. If that level of quality is there the CF will be able to be left "as delivered" and the project will get a green light. If not Dave won't do it.

That’s what I was hoping you’d say. Awesome news and best of luck to Dave and Co, I hope you hit it out of the park!

That’s a lot of cheddar. I’m sure there will be plenty of takers. Looking forward to seeing some of these build threads.

The bronze powder coat and wheels look sweet. Anodized panels are cool

I’m really torn. I’ve been too spoiled looking at everyone else’s threads and seeing all the great custom stuff people have done.

I really love the Intatrim Stoneleigh seats people have customized. I love the custom gauge clusters people have created. I love the more modern wheels people have chosen. I think there are just too many areas that I want to put my own stamp on for me to go with an anniversary model over a regular Mk5 kit.

I agree. I've done 5 Anniversary roadsters for customers; 3 of the Twentieth and 2 of the Twenty fifth. If you stray from the package and start replacing some of the exclusive content such as gauges, seats, rims, etc. it becomes kind of pointless to do one of the Anniversary cars.
