Hello all,
I'm sure some others have gone this route, and I have a couple of quick questions!
I have a good understanding of the plumbing with 2 components coming from the same pump system - but does anyone have good pictures of how they've plumbed it? Just looking for good routing ideas etc. (My setup will be a 427, Forte's hydroboost etc, ford power steering rack)
I'm planning on running all 6an lines/fittings, and incorporating a fluid cooler. My plan is to have the cooler in the return line, after the "Y" (where both outputs will be joined). I'm wondering just how "Aggressive" I want to be with the cooling. Does anyone have experience and input on just how much heat is generated with both brakes and steering in the system? I suppose I could put a cooler in the output of each device prior to joining the fluid on its return path to the reservoir? Probably total overkill though, and finding "more room" becomes a challenge....
Any opinions, experience or thoughts appreciated!

I have hb on my cobra. Used a small cooler on the return and cant report any impact... Regarding plumbing; high pressure to the HB. The HB also has a high pressure out which goes to rack. Low pressure returns with a T connector thru a small cooler then return to resivior. All are AN6 lines I got from breeze except the supply line to the pump which I believe is AN10.

I have been running HB in my roadster since 2005. This diagram depicts the general arrangement you're describing and is similar to what I have, other than my pump has an integral, rather than remote reservoir:

Sorry to whoever originally drew the pic, I can't remember who to credit!
I am fairly certain the cooler isn't necessary, but I did install one in the oil-cooler opening just because. Note orientation of the 'T' in the return line, this is important. My return lines are also larger, since this is where any restriction in flow could cause problems.

Just did a post on my build thread post #215 (https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?40632-ATX-MKIV-9644-Coyote-Build-Thread-(Index-Post-137)&p=573875&viewfull=1#post573875) about my power steering plumbing (Coyote + KRC Pump + Hydroboost + Oil Cooler). There's a video walkthrough of the plumbing and schematic for how everything is hooked up. I don't think the oil cooler is needed for daily driving for my setup, but I like the look so went ahead and used it for the power steering.

I Installed the Forte HB on my BP347 didn't add an oil cooler. I'm thinking if you plan to use the car on autoX or track an oil cooler would be a must, others can guide you more on this than I. I have attached a picture of how I plumbed the HB, it's pretty straight forward on my install. I finished a 2,000 mile shakedown last year really like the power steering and brakes, I'm sure you will too.

I have a cooler plumbed into the common return line - everything is set up like Darryl's diagram.

Thanks guys!
Lidodrip - where oh where did you find the red/blue fittings? I look everywhere and can only seem to find black....
Darryl - much thanks for the diagram! I'm not sure how much sense it makes on going to 10AN and then back to 6AN, but I have that same KRC setup in my coupe, so I know you're limited to what that tank has for fittings. With some of the external tank setups, I think I'll be able to have a 10AN return, so that should help some too.
The Cobra is intended to be more of a track/autoX setup, so I'm really trying to do what I can to keep the heat down

Hey Rich, Yup coulda hit the edit button for the picture in hindsight.
Regarding the HB - I'm running the stock kit brakes and pads. I had a concern about brake bias, not having a balance bar to regulate the brake pressure between front to back, I installed an adjustable restrictor valve on the rear circuit, so far I haven't needed to use it. Just my experience.

Yep agreed but the KRC pump has a 6AN port on the reservoir return. I like the look of the 10AN hoses in the nose opening so I bought a 10AN oil cooler. You can get them in 6AN, 8AN, 10AN, etc so if you want to stick with all 6AN, that would most likely be just fine functionally. I basically copied Lidodrip's setup - he was a big help when trying to figure out all the plumbing.
