Hello Community,

i ordered and received my 65 Coupe R.
Before i biult fuel thank and so on i have a question to members who homologate their coupes for road racing in SCCA or FIA.
In austria to homologate the coupe R at AMF (austrian motorsport federation) i need a certificate for the spaceframe with information about the materials used and maybe the strength.
Does someone have one?

I tried to contact Dan, but i think he is busy with the MK5 :)

If someone can help me out and/or can give me some information, that would be great.

Best regards from austria,

Roland

Roland,

For an official certificate regarding the cage, yopu will likely have to talk to Factory Five - as you already tried - keep trying!

Homologation is no longer required for SCCA GT cars, only compliance with the rules. For the Coupe-R (specifically eligible for GTX class in SCCA, as well as other classes depending on what you want to run) the car needs to comply with the IT safety rules and SCCA cage rules. For my Coupe-R, I have to show the tech inspector that the roll cage meets the SCCA rules and I have all required safety equip, ent for the class I plan to run. So, things like cage tube wall thickness, diameter and placement, fire system, firewall, security of installed equipment, fuel cell, window net, etc.

You may download a pdf copy of the SCCA GCR's (rules) here: https://cdn.connectsites.net/user_files/scca/downloads/000/074/197/February-2025.pdf The IT cage rules (for GT cars) begin on page 86.

I don't have any experience with FIA rules. All my safety equipment is SFI, as required by our conference rules.
