Hey Folks,
I’m looking for ideas regarding my Mk3 trunk lid. As you can see in the photos it is misaligned quite a bit on the rear and on the sides. The body is currently attached to the frame.

The car is 20 years old. I acquired this car last fall, but it looks like the body spent a lot of time outside. The trunk lid appears to have been stored inside, separate from the body. Not sure if this is part of the problem.

Any suggestions?

It’s been 18 years since I built mine but I do remember having to fiddle with the lid quite a bit. You can probably pull the body in a little bit with the mounting bolts. I also remember back in the day there being a suggestion on setting the lid on made up support with some weight on the top and leaving it out in the sun which would actually warp it closer to the needed shape. Not so easy to do this time of year up in our area.
Hopefully Mr Kliner will see this and have some better guidance for you.

The body needs to be pulled in, Setting it in the sun doesn't really do much
