Switching over to the Walbro340BX (to go with my BPE 347 with Sniper II) Do I need to get the Pro-M hanger or can I use the one provided with the latest MK4 Kits?

Yes, you can use the kit provided OE style pump hangar. Having said that, the Pro-M piece is vastly superior. True 3/8" in and out, -AN fittings, longer return tube (watch their video). Not fun to change after everything is assembled. You won't regret the upgrade.

Everything edwardb said plus the stock hangers typically do not handle the extra amp draw of a high performance fuel pump. Go with the Pro-M. Very much worth it in the long run.

You will have to grind the hanger opening in the tank to accommodate the Pro-M. If you have already put fuel in the tank, that'll take some care to accomplish.

Dump the stock unit for an Aeromotive or Pro-M. My stock hanger’s wiring terminals were melted, carbonized and loose. This was the wiring inside of the tank. I only had a few hundred miles on the car. I feel pretty lucky I caught it when I did.

I've done several and did grind the first one how the Pro-M instructions show. But upon further review, determined it's not necessary to be nearly that aggressive. If at all. With careful orientation, and pushing in the extended return tube (it's pretty flexible) the hangar will go in. If you don't have any fuel in the tank, you may want to trim a little as it seems necessary. But don't panic if you already have fuel. In my experience it will go in without cutting. My main caution in either case is watch the power wires. It's easy to scrape them against the sharp edges of the opening. Ask me how I know.

I'll second Paul's response. I upgraded to the Pro-M hanger and didn't need to make any modifications to the tank.

I considered the Pro-M hanger and the Walboro pump but went with the Holley Sniper EFI in Tank 340LPH with the hanger that fits a 1983-1997 Mustang fuel tank part #12-345. It does recommend a larger gauge of wire than what is supplied in the Ron Francis wiring though. I also have a 347 Stroker engine.
