Greetings all, I recently procured a windshield wiper system from someone here on this Forum. Turns out to be missing a few parts. Specificly the outer chrome bezels/sleeves and the matching inner bezels/sleeves that support the axle/gear boxes on the body. He does not have them. He aquired his Roadster kit from the origonal purchaser.
I called FFR and was told they would not sell parts for the wiper systems they sell. I must buy an entire kit to get the $15. worth of parts I need. Which seems kinda odd as this is a FFR kit. So they are telling me they do not support their products unless you buy it direct from them! What if I broke or lost one? My only recorse would be to buy a new kit for $550.? I'm calling BS on this. This is not a way to encourage an owner of a new MK4 Roadster to buy a Coupe.
So to fix my dilema, if someone who has a windshield kit, can they please let me know what the inner bezel/sleeve is made of, and maybe some dimensions, so I can fabricate a pair. I have one of the outer chrome bezels, so I can have a pair machined from aluminum at a local shop. There are pictures and a diagram in the installation Instructions.
The FFR P/N for the outer chrome bezel/sleeve is 11284
The FFR P/N for the inner base sleeve is 11283
If anyone has extras, I would certainly give up my 1st born for them!
