Hello, everyone. I haven't posted much at all so far of my build with my son. We have made a lot of progress and information from here has been very helpful. We have started body work, and the chassis is pretty much done (95 percent-ish). We have driven it around the neighborhood in go-cart form several times while we are getting the EFi tuned in on the old FE engine. We have the body back on, for what we hope is the last time before paint. I have read many posts that have answered some of my questions already in regard to body fitment and alignment. I keep seeing references to Jeff Kleiner's procedure for body fitment. While I have seen many of his posts to many people's questions on the topic (thanks Jeff and everyone else), I have failed to find a concise summary or procedure for the overall fitment and installation. I have tried forum searches, and the google method for forum searches, but not having luck. Can anyone help with the link(s)? Any other good overall body installation and alignment links would also be appreciated.
Thanks much!

Thank you, Steve. I had read through that thread some time back but missed (skipped over) some of the details on the body fitment. It helped a lot. I added some of the other links I had read through for others that would like a listing of several links on the topic.

Hi, quick question about body fitment. A few posts I had found made reference to installing the front inner fender splash guards while doing the body fitment. Can someone explain why that is needed if I have the rear, the door area, and the nose of the car all centered? I seem to remember that the inner fender splash guards affect the side pipe openings, but I have not re-found that post. Will it affect the side pipe openings or is it just to get it set for easier installation after painting is done? Thanks for any input.

Yes, it can play into the sidepipe openings. As I’ve mentioned previously you need to mock up and build the entire car prior to paint to avoid unpleasant surprises later.
