Thank you all for contributing to the forum and help steer my process.
After 7 months I have my first MK4 done!!! Well mostly. I still need to skin the door cards and get it titled next week and waiting on some trim rings for the roll bars before final installation. I havent done any cutting/buffing yet so thats on the to do list but as far as having a fully functional roadster, I am happy to call this one complete!

Looks great, although looks like the hood needs a little adjustment at the front!

I put some D weather seal but it's thicker than it should be so waiting on some thinner seal. Sits flush with just the rubber bumpers but seeing if I can get this to work.

How did you wire your digital rear view mirror? I don't see any wires in that photo. Car looks great!

I havent found a permanent solution but for now the wire runs underneath the car through the trans tunnel and back through a grommet in the firewall. It is accessible and I can pull it out and plug it in when needed. I am trying to find a better looking way to run the cable up the windshield post and along the top. Right now I just have it attached to the windshield with a universal suction mount. I didnt want to do anything permanent until I knew for sure where it would stay. I was thinking about getting a top for it and wanted a corvette style rear view that runs off a camera feed.

Thanks! Still need to tweak a few things but will go to the DMV Monday and hopefully get everything 100% squared away. I work for an airline so I end up with blocks of days off, and mostly home half the month. If I was doing a Mon to Fri job with only the weekends to work on it I would be nowhere near done Im sure.

Thanks the smaller bulb seal was enough for both doors and hood. I used the thicker part around the back and transitioned to the 5/16 down the sides and front. Lifting the back hinge just a hair let it sit down right.
Thanks!

Congrats, and looks great! Are you wishing you would've cut and buffed before mounting the body and all the external accoutrement?

After a full month the clearcoat has shrank about all it is going to. It looked fantastic the first week then developed some texture as it cured. I only had to pull off the back overriders and tail lights to wet sand and buff those areas. In some ways I wish I had left it on the buck until it was 100% but having it on the body keeps it from moving around while I'm applying pressure. All in all I think having it on the car makes cutting and buffing easier even if slightly messier

Looks awesome! Can you talk about the black chrome? That's the look I'm going for as well.

I lightly sanded the gas cap, overriders and headlight rings, and used this...

Its an almost black, dark gray metallic. It looks like black over chrome. I thought it was a nice accent. I left the wiper arms and windshield chrome but may do them in black chrome later. The exhaust was a black high temp ceramic paint.

You can also get a black chrome powder coating if so desired. All looks great! We'll have to hook up in Orlando at some point once I get to the end of this thing.
