I was sure that I had been a member of this forum about twenty years ago but I couldn’t find any login information. So I guess now I’m a new guy.

Way back around 2001-ish I owned a Shell Valley “Cobra” then bought and built an early Hurricane when they were still in Kansas City. I never owned a FFR but watched them evolve over the years.

Suddenly (?) I’m retired and living in S-E Arizona with money in the bank and time on my hands and have been thinking of another car build. But at 65 I also realize that my building days might just be limited. I’m kind of deep into a ‘68 SS El Camino refresh so definitely need to finish that up before diving into another project. One of the few lessons I’ve learned along the way is to not have more than one car in pieces at a time.

Anyway, I figured I’d check out FFR again and lurk the forum to get an idea about how things are going with other builds.

Welcome (back?) to me….

Tom in Vail, AZ.

Welcome back. I too have another identity on here from me getting on the forum 10 years before I bought my component vehicle from FFR.

You should really take the time to visit FFR in Mass to see all different models they offer.

Welcome back. I too started on here about 20 years ago while I was in Iraq. Now at 62 years old I am 80% done with my 35 Hot Rod Truck. I always wanted a 65 type coupe, but after two visits to the FFR facility and as more aches and pains set in and a damaged left foot, I thought the truck with an automatic would be more drivable for a longer period of time. If you ever venture up to the Prescott AZ area, the beer fridge is open.

I started building my coupe at 69! Driving it keeps me young!

I took delivery of my MK4 in March of 2017 and took it in for paint in Feb of 2021 and finally got it on the road May of 2024 and love every minute behind the wheel. I'll turn 78 this July.

Never too late. I started mine at 68 and loved almost every minute of it. (except the body work) But after the body work was done, I was proud of the end result. I could not have done it at all without a lift in my garage. (being an old fart with arthritis). I would actually love to do another one, even being four years older. Quite a satisfying build.
